Capstone, specialists in children’s education and digital products, is the latest major publisher to sign up to BiblioLIVE in order to achieve operational efficiencies throughout its international operations, which includes over 13,000 titles across 6 imprints.
Capstone’s selection of the full suite of BiblioLIVE modules actually began with a tendering process to select a product to manage its Royalties process, which to date had been manual, requiring duplication data entry, time-intensive calculations and manual royalty statement creation which was unable to scale and meet business needs. Following discussions with a number of vendors and a deeper analysis of internal requirements, Capstone soon realized that just addressing Royalties would not solve many of the frustrations and inefficiencies it faces with the rest of the publishing process. In particular, the use of disparate systems and Excel spreadsheets means the press is currently reliant on dual-data entry and manual integration to get through their workflows, costing them time and money.
After several conversations with Virtusales and demonstrations of the breadth and functionality of BiblioLIVE, it became clear to Capstone that an integrated solution would be more appropriate, providing users with an opportunity to improve efficiencies throughout the organization and achieve their corporate strategic goals of scaling. With an end-to-end publication system and single, consolidated database, Capstone will be able to effectively manage the entire publication lifecycle, from Ideation and Acquisition, all the way through the Contract and Production processes, flowing seamlessly on to Rights and Royalties.
