knk Group announces its partnership with Serenic Corporation
The international knk Group announces the signing of a strategic partnership with Serenic Corporation. Over recent months, members of knk and Serenic met to define the agreement. The parties have agreed to cobrand their respective product offerings to clients who operate in the publishing and media industries, and require a nonprofit financial software. The partnership enables knk to deliver not-for-profit financial software solutions to its customers.
“This relationship extends our product line into markets that we previously were unable to reach”, says Knut Nicholas Krause, President of knk Group. “It enables knk to deliver the nonprofit industry’s leading financial software, Serenic Navigator, to knk’s customers who require a fund accounting solution.”
Serenic Corporation (Edmonton, Canada and Denver, Colorado USA) develops, markets, and supports mission-critical financial management and business operations software for nonprofits, international NGOs, and the public sector. Additionally, Serenic is the exclusive developer of human resources and payroll products for Dynamics NAV users in North America. www.Serenic.com
Like knkPublishing, Serenic Navigator is built on Microsoft Dynamics. The single platform enables features to be merged. The knk Group has been working with Serenic on joint projects of this nature for many years. The first deployment of a client offering was to the US Naval Institute Press in 2007. The signing of the partnership demonstrates knk’s and Serenic’s ongoing commitment to meeting the needs of publishers who operate as nonprofit organizations. It also demonstrates knk’s and Serenic’s intent to pursue opportunities in this market space.
The knk-Serenic partnership authorizes knk Group to sell and distribute Serenic’s product line including:
- Serenic Navigator (fund accounting for GL, AR, AP, FA, & inventory)
- BudgetVision (sophisticated budgeting features for nonprofits)
- AwardVision (grants management)
- DonorVision (donor management)
- Serenic HCM (human capital management – HR and Payroll)
The suite of products is commonly known as “Serenic Navigator”. Features are designed for mid-sized organizations with annual revenues from $10M to hundreds of millions. Built on Microsoft Dynamics, Navigator employs a SQL database and includes multi-currency and multi-language features as part of the standard package. The system may be deployed to users according to an organization’s needs by utilizing a conventional Windows client or by deploying Web-access or SharePoint services.
The relationship with Serenic will be maintained by knk Software LP, the knk Group’s US operation. “The partnership offers credible synergy with knk’s existing publishing solution”, says Ned Wood, knk Software’s Executive Director. “We often encounter nonprofit organizations who own publishing or media operations to support their mission. The organization’s publishing managers are excited by knkPublishing’s features but financial managers are less excited by the for-profit financial package that comes with knkPublishing. Our relationship with Serenic enables us to offer knkPublishing in a fund accounting package. We now hope to excite those nonprofit financial managers with a complete solution. As the knk Group wishes to grow its global presence, partnering with Serenic enables us to attract potential customers to knk from this under serviced market space. We’re quite excited by the opportunities this partnership presents.”
